Course Requirements
A candidate (full-time and part-time) must successfully complete a programme of study consisting of 4
Foundation modules and 6 elective modules.
Depending on the background of the candidate, the Department may allow the waiver of Foundation
modules on a case-by-case basis. In such instances, the candidate must make up for these modules by
choosing from either group 1, 2, 3 or 4.
(i) The four Foundation modules are :

SH5002 Fundamentals in Industrial Safety
SH5003 Fundamentals in Environmental Protection
SH5004 Fundamentals in Industrial Hygiene
(ii) The elective modules can be selected from topics in group one to group three.
